Biography

Ludmilla Radchenko was born in Omsk, Siberia, on 11 November 1978.

After attending Art School, in 1995 she began studying design, cinema and theatre; she graduated in design in 1999. That same year she moved to Italy, where she started working as a model, and shortly afterwards debuted on television. Nonetheless her passion for painting remained so pronounced that in 2005, during her participation in a reality show in Africa, she decided to completely dedicate herself to this art form.

On 10 March 2008, she held, along with the painter Rinaldo Delfini, her first group exhibition at the Iroko Studio in Milan on the "Rebel Angels" theme. In the meantime, after a study trip to London, she prepared another series of works dedicated to the British capital, titled London Times.

In the summer of 2008 the "L'arte di essere donna" project was born; it was conceived, created and interpreted by Ludmilla Radchenko, and would later be published as a special insert for the entire print run in the October 2008 issue of Maxim; her twelve paintings were subsequently displayed in October the following year at Palazzo Venini, in the heart of Milan. In December she travelled to the United States, where she attended language and acting courses in New York.

In March 2009, upon returning to Italy, she decided to exhibit the series New York Underground, works explicitly informed by Pop Art and presented in July 2009 at Astoria in Milan.

The following exhibition was a tribute to the queen of Pop: Madonna. The show, Madonna Live Style, was inaugurated on 7 October 2009 at the Black Room in the Diana Majestic Hotel in Milan. In the meantime she displayed Charmant Paris at an important group event, Imago Feminae—the yearly exhibition in Tortona dedicated to figurative painting and visual art held from 3 to 31 October 2009.

In November 2009, in collaboration with Silvia Pettinicchio from the Wannabee Gallery in Milan, she took part in the group show Another Break in the Wall, organized to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the collapse of the Berlin Wall, and on 2 December 2009, once again at the Wannabee Gallery, she exhibited ten works in the solo show Amsterdam Temptation.

In February 2010 she displayed four pieces in a group event at the RDBR Gallery on Via Margutta (Rome) and was invited to participate at the CowParade in Rome. The artist executed Lady Candy Pop, a cow that started to become the cult work at this international event as early as its first presentation to the public in her studio. In late March she also took part in Arte accessibile, in Milan, with some of her works. In April, during the Salone del Mobile trade show, she exhibited at the design studio Robertaebasta on Via Solferino 2, in the Brera quarter.

Also during the Salone del Mobile she was asked to participate in the artistic installation project of Gobbetto Resin Solutions at the Triennale di Milano, where the artist presented two works of a gigantic patchwork. On 18 June, in collaboration with PiQuadro Luce, she held her first design exhibition at Palazzo Felici in Cagli.

Subsequently, invited to the "Summer Jamboree" festival in Senigallia, she displayed works inspired by 1950s protagonists. On 18 September she inaugurated her solo show at the Museo di Arte Contemporanea of Lucca, Lu.C.C.A., organized by Chiodini Arte and curated by Maurizio Vanni.

During that period, in Rome, the artist took part in a collective exhibition at Palazzo Torlonia, curated by the Galleria Ca' d'Oro. In October she was chosen for the international painting competition Gemlucart of Monaco. She embarked upon her collaboration with Opera Gallery of Monte Carlo and the Grimaldi Forum, later presented at the International Clubbing Show.
